When we think of Hyde Park, our thoughts turn to two of its famous residents - Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt. A visit to Hyde Park would not be complete without a stopping at the Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site and touring the Presidential library and museum.
In addition to his leadership throughout World War II; President Roosevelt did much to improve the Hyde Park community in which he lived. Current residents enjoy many schools and parks that are part of the legacy of contributions made to their home town by the President and Mrs. Roosevelt.
Just north of the Roosevelt Estate are the Vanderbilt and Mills mansions. Visiting these homes would give anyone the impression that Hyde Park is only for the rich and famous. Fortunately, it’s not true. These families were some of the wealthiest in America; but that was in ages past. Their wealth didn’t last and their properties are now owned and maintained by the National Park service.
Hyde Park is home to people of every social stratum. There are still extremely wealthy people living in the community. There are also farmers, school teachers, firemen, policemen, doctors, lawyers, and professional people of every classification.
Many work locally. Some commute great distances to enjoy the many housing opportunities, excellent schools, superb parks, golf courses, and closeness to the Hudson River for fishing and boating.
You too can become a Hyde Park resident and enjoy all the benefits of living in this dynamic area of the Hudson Valley. Call and let me show you why so many have chosen to make Hyde Park the place the place to live and raise their family.
